Virgin Experience Days Argos Red Letter Days Play Activity Superstore Thruxton London Theatre Direct"Off with her head," says the Queen of Hearts to Alice in Wonderland. While this may be fiction, it's a fact that not so long ago this was precisely the punishment meeted out to those who went against the will of the Kings and Queens of England. From traitor's gate (at which those accused of treason arrived) through to the White tower and the hillock outside it where executions took place, the royal fortress and castle known as the Tower of London has certainly had a bloody past.
Of course it also houses the Crown Jewels as well as an extensive armoury and weapons collection in its varied and outstanding historical architecture. I've visited the tower on a number of occasions, and it is a favourite place for me take visiting friends and family from overseas, so I can personally recommend it as a venue.
