Virgin Experience Days Argos Red Letter Days Play Activity Superstore Thruxton London Theatre DirectThis magnificent medieval castle, set on the River Avon in Warwick, is one of the original castle sites of William the Conqueror. Extensively developed during its use as a fortification through to the 17th Century, Warwick castle is one of the finest examples of a medieval fortification in the country (Good Britain Guide, 2003). Unlike many of the ruins up and down the country, Warwick has been extensively restored where possible in order to bring to life a castle of the medieval period as it was during that time.
Now owned by Tussaud's Warwick is a well organised visitor destination with many opportunities to eat and relax while exploring it's extensive attractions, including seasonal shows covering Ghosts at the castle, Archery, Falconry and (last time we went) reenactments of medieval jousting in the grounds.
All the entries in this table are also on the pages Medieval, Tudor and Elizabethan.
