Virgin Experience Days Argos Red Letter Days Play Activity Superstore Thruxton London Theatre DirectOne of William the Conquerors original Motte and Bailey sites following the Norman invasion, Windsor Castle has a longer history than most. Nowadays the castle dominates the town, where you walk up the high street below the outer castle wall and from across the river, the view shows how the town of Windsor very much grew up and around the castle which it served. As a royal castle, it has seen considerable development with notable architectural features being the round tower, Edward III tower, the horshoe cloister and of course St. George's chapel, home to the Knights of the Order of the Garter. Other attractions within the castle include a visit to the state appartments and a tour of Queen Mary's intricate and detailed dolls houses.
